A 63-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon at a cemetery in northwest Indiana.
Richard Schulatz was struck by a vehicle driven by a cemetery employee at Evergreen Cemetery in the 3800 block of West 39th Avenue in Hobart, Indiana, at 2:42 p.m., according to Hobart police.
Schulatz was taken to Methodist Hospital Northlake Campus in Gary, where he was pronounced dead at 7:26 p.m., according to the Lake County coroner’s office. He lived in the 900 block of Georgiana Street in Hobart.
He died of blunt force trauma, but the manner of death is pending, according to the coroner’s office.
Hobart police are investigating.
